Altappen
On Altappen you can find artefacts from the beginning of the industrial era, about a century ago.

Klubbviken Havsbad
At Klubbviken Beach on Sandön Island there is a holiday village, a camping site and a restaurant, all in the close vicinity of a superb sandy bathing beach.

Junkön
Junkön has a permanent population. There is an Archipelago Museum and a windmill, of unknown age, and an old archipelago homestead.

Rödkallen
Far out to sea, in the outer limits of the Luleå Archipelago you will find Rödkallen Island, the last outpost before crossing the gulf to Finland.

Kluntarna
On the island of Kluntarna in the Luleå Archipelago the town council runs a small holiday village with two four-bed cabins, a six-bed cabin, a wardens’ cabin, as well as a sauna and relaxation room, and an information centre.

Småskär
On Småskär, you will find numerous bays, old forests, flat rock slabs, tarns and other interesting landscape features.

Hindersön
Hindersön has a permanent population, and in the 1940s about 100 people lived on the island. Worth seeing: The scenery, Jopikgården and the old mine.

Brändöskär
Worth seeing: The chapel, the Haparanda monzonit rock that forms the shore rock slabs, the island’s fascinating scenery. Ola Taube, an artist from Luleå, lives on Uddskär, which is a part of Brandöskär, during the summer.

Ferries and boats

From about mid-June to mid-August, M/S Ronja will stop at islands in Luleå Archipelago according to a regular timetable.
M/S Ronja takes about 60 passengers on tours in the inner archipelago, and 35 passengers to islands further out (Brändöskär).

Regular service the whole summer to the following islands: Junkön, Kluntarna, Småskär, Hindersön, Brändöskär and Rödkallen. In addition, M/S Ronja also makes one weekly evening tour to the northern archipelago, with stops at Brändö Fritidsby, Kängsön and Rörbäck.

There are a number of companies that organize boat trips in the Luleå Archipelago. There is also a number of excellent guest harbours to visit and to make it easier for visitors travelling by boat, the City of Luleå Department of Recreation department has issued two special navigation charts.
